I’ll tell you exactly what’s costing you calls.
Send me your website. I’ll go through it properly and record a short video walking you through what’s working, what isn’t, and what I’d change first, in the order I’d change it.
Take that list to any other web designer you like. Plenty of people do.
Six things I look at, every time.
Specific to your business and your town. Nothing auto-generated by a scanning tool.
How it behaves on a phone
Where the layout breaks, what’s awkward to tap, and what a customer actually sees in the first three seconds.
How fast it loads
Real numbers on real connections, plus whatever is making it slow if it is.
What you rank for right now
What you turn up for in your town, what you don’t, and how much of that gap is realistically worth chasing.
Your Google Business Profile
Whether it’s set up properly, what’s missing, and how you compare to the competitors in your map pack.
Whether AI assistants know you exist
I’ll ask ChatGPT for a business like yours in your town and show you what comes back.
Why visitors aren’t calling
The specific things on the page costing you calls, listed in the order I’d fix them.
Reasonable suspicions
Yes. No card, no trial, no free audit that is really a sales call with slides. You get a video and a list. Take that list to another designer and have them do the work if you want. It happens and I don’t chase people about it.
It’s good marketing, and I’d rather say so. Some people watch the video, decide the problems are real, and hire me. Most don’t. The ones who do already trust me before we’ve properly spoken, which beats cold-calling restaurants at lunchtime.
Usually same day. Next morning if I’m mid-build on something. The video runs five to ten minutes, which is long enough to be specific and short enough that you’ll actually watch the whole thing.
Then that’s what you’ll hear. It happens. Sometimes the actual problem is the Google Business Profile, or the reviews, or that the business is doing fine and shouldn’t spend money on this right now.
Send your Facebook page, your Google listing, or just the business name and your town. I’ll look at what somebody searching for you finds today and what your competitors are up to. Often more useful than a site review anyway.
